Since I am starting this blog so late in the game, each entry could get lengthy but I am going to try and paraphrase.
After a year of trying unsuccessfully, as in not a missed period or miscarriage, we went to a physician. I decided just to go to the OB GYN I had been going too as I did not have a family doctor. The doctor did your basic pap smear, which came back normal, and decided to put me on Clomid. This medication is prescribed to initiate ovulation. I was on this medication for 3 months and with no luck.
Next my doctor scheduled a hysterosalpingogram at Iowa Radiology. In short this is where they insert dye into your uterine cavity and if your fallopian tubes are open (which is what you want) the dye will spill into the tubes. This came back as a positive. My tubes are open and in working order!!
This then lead me to Mid Iowa Fertility Clinic. This is the only clinic in the metro area that specializes in fertility. Oh man could I post a new entry on my thoughts about Mid Iowa, but I will stick to the events rather than my opinions!

In the beginning
It is every girls dream to grow up, get married, and have a family. Once you complete the first you and your husband start planning the ideal time to get pregnant. At that time you start being less careful, wait for your time of the month, and supposedly you are pregnant right?
This blog is a story of our journey through infertility. I am starting this late as you never imagine that something like this will happen to you and that you would have to go through a multi year process in order to conceive. This blog has a dual purpose as it is an outlet for me to share my struggles, heartaches, and hopeful one day a triumph as well as have an educational resource for anyone else that may have to endure this process as well.
