New Year, New Plan

January 9 was the appointment with Dr. Cooper. We decided to do 2 months of the Femara and the IUI, artificial insemination. After the 2nd month of the unsuccessful cycles we moved on to a more invasive procedure.  It was explained to us that I may have endometriosis. The only way to check for this is through a laparoscopic surgery.  We decided that since the IUI were not working this may be the issue and once this is corrected I would have no problem conceiving.

It was an outpatient procedure but in my mind very invasive and scary. They gave me in IV, and put me under general anesthesia.  They made an incision inside my belly button and in my pubic area and were able to take pictures and clear out the endometriosis that they did find.  Dr. Cooper performed the surgery and stated that there was a significant amount that they cleared. He was hopeful that this was the problem and we were given the ok to try naturally the next month.

They recovery from this procedure wasn't bad, I had a sore throat from the intubation tube, my bladder was constantly full and I had the sensation that I needed to urinate right after I finished urinating. I felt very bloated, apparently they put gas inside of you to get better visualization of the tissue. The only evidence of the procedure was the incision sites the next day.
